Healthy families make healthy communities.  Odyssey Family Counseling is committed not only to individual clients, but also to the community at large.  Working on-site at Atlanta area schools and in community settings, Odyssey offers Prevention and Education services designed to educate groups of all ages about a variety of issues impacting mental health and wellness.  Our programming is tailored for each group and customized for content, format, and length.   Please contact us using the links below to inquire about fees.

In-School Prevention and Education Services

 

Odyssey partners with local public and private schools to provide educational programming for students, teachers, and/or parents on a variety of topics, including:

  • Substance Abuse Prevention Education
  • General Mental Health Education
  • Parenting Education (for adults or teens)
  • Self-Esteem
  • Anger Management
  • Coping Skills

Community Prevention and Education Services

Odyssey staff are available to come to your organization or civic group to provide educational programming for staff, clients, or members.  Popular topics include:

Working on-site at Atlanta area schools and in community settings, Odyssey’s Prevention and Education service is designed to educate groups of at-risk adolescents, as well as parents and other adults, about the tools needed to help avoid risky behaviors as teens navigate the unique challenges of middle school and high school.

 

The curriculum is tailored to the particular needs of each group.  Common topics include addiction education, self-esteem, nutrition, anger management, and parenting.

HIV Testing Services

Odyssey partners with local nonprofit agency Imagine Hope and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) on expanded HIV awareness and testing in the Atlanta community.

 

Our nurses attend a variety of health fairs and community events, including events at local colleges and universities, where they participate in AIDS prevention and education activities, and deliver rapid HIV tests at no charge.   For more information on our HIV testing services, contact mwiley@odysseycounseling.org.
