Groups are held Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Program Design

The Women’s Program is a planned program of services designed to help a woman enter the workforce, while maintaining a drug-free lifestyle. Other issues are addressed as needed to support recovery.  Women’s self-sufficiency and determination are increased as they are able to stop using drugs and enter the workforce. Barriers to treatment are addressed in a female focused environment, focusing on the impact of substance abuse to health, family relationships, and society. A whole person approach is used  throughout three carefully planned phases of the program:

Phase I
During Phase I, women participate in individual and group therapy for a minimum of 25 hours, 5 days a week. Women meet in therapeutic groups, addressing areas of addiction, recovery, self-esteem, and positive parenting, relationships, and job skills.

Phase II
After 65 days of successful treatment, clients move into Phase II. During this period, approximately 30 hours each week are devoted to training and job readiness. Many women begin employment in this phase, as they continue to live drug-free lifestyles. Those who are not yet working, receive six to ten weeks of intensive job training off-site with collaborating agencies. Treatment is reduced to 10 hours per week as the women begin employment activities.

Phase III
In Phase III, more than 30 hours each week are spent at a job site or in training. Between 5-10 hours each week are focused on aftercare, in which a woman continues to overcome substance abuse dependence and checks-in around her own safety. Focus here is on helping a woman maintain employment through developing healthy relationships and support systems. This phase involves five contacts a month with a participant, helping to assure that her transition to drug-free living is successful.

Comments from clients include:

"It gave me hope- helped me realize I have some control over my life."

"I completed treatment in June of 2000. I am still clean today."

"This is a safe and nurturing environment."

"I feel like I can make the necessary changes in my life."
