Malika is a native of Lansing, Michigan and has been in
Georgia for ten years. She attended Michigan State
University and received a BA in Social Relations. She began
her career as a middle school teacher, discovering a passion
for young people. As many students came into her classroom
in need of much more than an academic setting could provide,
she pursued working with the forgotten, adolescent boys in
foster care, as a group home parent. After this transforming
experience, she knew that she needed to develop her skill
set further; hence, attended Argosy University and received
a Masters in Professional Counseling. It was then that her
clinical work began, serving children, adolescents and their
families struggling with issues related to grief, trauma,
substance abuse, anger, and conduct problems. She has
recently expanded her clinical experience to include working
with adults with substance abuse related issues. |
